Sharona Abramovitch, MSc, RD, CDE

Hi, I’m Sharona, a Registered Dietitian (RD) with over 13 years of experience providing nutrition assessments, counselling, and education to individuals, families, and groups. I support clients across a wide range of health concerns, including cholesterol and blood pressure management, liver and kidney health, bowel health, women’s health (including preconception and menopause), weight management, emotional eating, and infant and family nutrition.

I work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and am passionate about creating personalized nutrition care plans that reflect individual preferences, traditions, and lifestyles. My approach focuses on practical, sustainable strategies that support long-term health and well-being.

I hold a joint Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition and Kinesiology, along with a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science and a Master of Applied Nutrition. During my graduate studies, my research focused on evaluating dietary patterns, assessing body composition using DXA (Dual X-ray Absorptiometry) and BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), and analyzing dietary intake using nutrition assessment tools to better understand the effectiveness of dietary guidelines in Canada.

I am also a Certified Diabetes Educator and have completed additional training in obesity management and mindful eating. I have a strong passion for cooking and have pursued culinary training at George Brown College, where I developed skills in adapting traditional recipes to balance both nutrition and taste.

In addition to one-on-one counselling, I have developed a course on healthy eating for longevity, contributed to a cookbook focused on brain health, and led group workshops on topics such as mindful eating, brain health, liver health, heart health, and eating well on a budget.
